HISG Announces USA Training Events

United States of America, Dec 07, 2011

HISG will be training four key training modules at our main office building in Palmer Lake, Colorado, in January. The four sessions will be International Disaster Response 1100 (Community-Based Disaster Preparedness), International Disaster Response 1300 (Community-Based Disaster Response), Seeds for Sustainable Change, and Holistic, Integrated, Sustainable Transformation. Each training will have the same content that HISG has presented hundreds of times in communities around the world. Additionally, the courses will include the new Train the Trainer curriculum that is vital in helping these ideas spread.

The International Disaster Response (IDR) training will be January 17-20, 2012. The HIST Community Development training will be one week later, on January 25-27, 2012.

The IDR 1100 module teaches individuals and families how to prepare for and respond to disasters. The training is customized to specific communties to help them survive when disaster strikes.

The IDR 1300 module provides a roadmap for communities to build their own response capability. The 1300 course details how to conduct a local asset assessment, when to connect with professional responders, and how to set up a “Local Coordination Center” that can serve the needs of your friends and neighbors.
